ALTON WATER, Nr Ipswich, Suffolk
Exit the A12 just south of Ipswich at the Capel St Mary junction then travel on the A137 and B1080 to Stutton. The entrance to Alton Water is situated just beyond Stutton on the left. The cafe for the In focus event is situated alongside the sailing centre on the shore of the reservoir.

From the A10, leave at the junction signposted A414 to Harlow. At the first roundabout, take the B181 to St Margarets and Stanstead Abbotts. On entering St Margarets and just before the railway, turn left up Amwell lane. After 1 km look out for a sign on the left of the reserve. Park on the side of Amwell lane. It is a 5-10 minute walk down the rough track (going east) , over the railway line, taking acre
to look out for trains, then over the River Lee Navigation to the James Birdwatching hide. In Focus signs will direct you to us.

FARMOOR RESERVOIR Oxford
Situated three miles west of Oxford City and lying alongside the River Thames the reservoir is accessed from the B4044 Oxford to Eynsham Road. There is a large car park below the sailing club. A 'countryside' walk takes a scenic route around the perimeter or the two reservoirs can be comfortably traversed via tarmac paths and a causeway. Please follow the in focus signs to the sales venue

Farmoor Reservoir is ideally situated to attract migrating, wintering and breeding birds. Although surrounded by a concrete embankment the shoreline and wavewall can still hold good numbers of waders, wagtails & pipits etc. There is a large gull roost from late July through to mid April. The Pinkhill Reserve was established in 1990 and this has added to the species diversity of the area.

There is a cafe on site plenty of room to park and full facilities for the disabled...

WELNEY WWT, Norfolk
Welney Wetland Centre is located 12 miles north of Ely, 26 miles north of Cambridge and 33 miles east of Peterborough. It is 2 miles south of Welney village turning off the A1101 at the New Bedford Suspension Bridge, signposted Ten Mile Bank.
Occasionally, the A1101 between Welney Village and Suspension Bridge floods and is closed to cars. Under such circumstances, access to WWT Welney is always possible from Ely or Downham Market, off the A10.
