![]() The shop is situated in the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre at Egleton; the home of The British Birdwatching Fair. There are stunning views of the Rutland Water Nature Reserve from the shop making this the ideal situation from which to test binoculars and telescopes. During spring and summer there are regular sightings of Ospreys and in the winter there are huge concentrations of wildfowl just in front of the shop. There is free parking in the visitor centre car park and in the centre toilets and facilities for the disabled. ![]() Updates The reserve winter maintenance programme has been completed, the lagoons look very inviting as we eagerly await the arrival of ospreys and other summer visitors. Egleton reserve is at the western end of Rutland Water and can be reached by car from the A1 via the A606 or from the A.47. Public transport is less easy, but there are trains to Oakham (Leicester - Peterborough line) and buses from Oakham to Uppingham with a quarter mile walk to the Birdwatching Centre. |
