WHAT IS DIGISCOPING In its simplest form Digiscoping is taking a picture with a digital camera by holding it up to the eyepiece of a telescope. WHY BOTHER? When compared to using an SLR with heavy and expensive telephoto lenses, it is relatively inexpensive It is compact and lightweight, Allows for very high magnifications . You can produce you own prints on a PC.		THE PROBLEM Attaching the camera to the telescope eyepiece to avoid camera shake which at high magnifications can result in poor quality photographs. THE SOLUTION There is an array of mounts and adapter rings available on the market. Below is our recommendation of some of the more common combinations

	Opticron - Samsung digital camera kits are a high quality, easy to use solution to the problem of choosing a suitable compact camera for high magnification telephotography (digi-scoping). Latest kits comprise a Samsung NV15 camera, 1GB SD memory card, bespoke camera lens mount and remote control, plus the option of either the DCC adapter and 2 inserts for connection to selected HDF T, HDF, HR2 and HR eyepieces or an SDL DCC adapter for connection to the 40935 SDL eyepiece.

DA1 ADAPTER This unique snap-on adapter allows for quick and easy attachment to the telescope eyepiece. A 28mm adapter ring fitted inside the DA-1 allows cameras with a 28mm thread and internal zoom to screw directly into the adapter unit. Some DA-1 adapters can be used in conjuction with the latest Samsung NV3 kit.

NIKON FSA Adapter

Fieldscope attachment for 28mm internal zoom cameras like the Nikon Coolpix 4500 to Nikon MC eyepieces. Easy attachment by a series of three rings. Allows quick attachment of camera for normal telescope viewing. For all Nikon MC eyepieces, 24x, 30x, 40x, 60x and the 20-60 zoom eyepiece.

NIKON FSB-1 Fieldscope Digital Camera Bracket

The Nikon FSB-1 allows you to connect the Coolpix 4200, 5200 or 7900 to a Nikon Fieldscope. It will attach the camera to the new DS24/30x eyepiece (£179.00) and comes with it’s own cable release.
The FSB-1 adapter can be easily detached from the scope to return to normal birdwatching use.

Fieldscope Digital Camera Brackets - each bracket enables you to connect your Nikon Fieldcsope to a specific Nikon Coolpix digital camera. Connect directly to the wide DS eyepiece or by using an FSA 1 and 2 adapter to a conventional multi-coated eyepiece.

Use the FSB-2 for the Coolpix 4600 or 5600, the FSB-3 for the Coolpix P1 or P2 and the FSB-4 for the Coolpix P3 or P4

NIKON FSA-L1 Adapter for Nikon DSLR cameras
For Nikon DSLR cameras use the FSA-L1 attachment. It allows the use of the camera’s centre weighted and spot metering systems as well as the apperture priority, auto and manual exposure modes.
With the Nikon D2x the Matrix metering system can also be used.
